Case Study: Company Conference

In planning our 2009 Company Conference we set out to deliver the event in line with our TripleImpact best practice initiative. In other words we planned it to provide deliver a commercial impact – ROI, minimise the carbon footprint impact and provide a social impact by putting something back into the local community. It proved to be our most successful internal company conference yet with a strong message, a unique creative concept and a CSR team-building event that focused on giving something back to the local community. This was our first fully BS8901-compliant event (therefore completely sustainable) and by measuring the return on investment through measuring staff behaviours and actions in the year following the event, we were able to demonstrate the value of this event to the business, as well as leaving a charitable legacy.

This event has won the following awards:

  • European Best Event Awards 2010: Best Event Evaluation
  • Eventia 2010: Silver – Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year
  • Eventia 2010: Highly Commended - Best Internal Staff Event
  • IVCA Clarion Awards 2010: Highly Commended - Live Events
  • EIBTM 2009: Sustainable Initiative of the Year

We were thrilled with the outcome and understand that it is being used as a best practice example on university courses.
